This Summer, Give Yourself Some Credit
Summer classes at BMCC can help you jump start your fall semester, catch up on credits, or get back on track to earning your degree.
Summer classes are the perfect opportunity for students to:
- Save money by taking more credits in a year
- Knock out remedial needs early
- Earn a degree in less time
- Boost their GPA
- Get familiar with campus
- Ease in to college life with a smaller class load
- Avoid long fall registration lines by getting admitted ahead of the crowd
(for new freshman or transfer students)
Who can take summer classes?
- Current BMCC students
- Previously enrolled BMCC students
- Brand new applicants – incoming freshman, fall transfer students
- Visiting students – take a class between semesters at another college
- Adult learners & community members
Whether you want to earn credits toward a degree here or elsewhere, explore new career options, or just learn something new for fun, we have something for you!
E-Permit for Visiting CUNY Students: Students enrolled at other CUNY schools are welcome to take summer courses at BMCC through e-permit. Applications for e-permit courses will open on March 20, 2020, and may be accessed from the Academics section of your CUNYfirst Student Center. For assistance completing an e-permit request, contact your current school’s Registrar or Records Office.
Summer schedule
We offer a wide range of summer classes to fit your schedule. Some are short and sweet, others are longer and more in-depth. Mix and match to create your perfect summer schedule.
Students may enroll in a maximum of 16 credit hours throughout the summer, up to 8 credits per session (summer 1 and summer 2).
Tuition and fees
The year-round Pell Grant may pay for your summer tuition! You can earn money for summer school by submitting FAFSA and New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) applications. Apply for financial aid online, and begin applying for scholarships as soon as you can!
Financial aid awards from the 2020-21 or 2021-22 school year may be used to cover summer costs.
