Other Application Types

  • Non-Degree: for students who want to take one or two classes without committing to an entire degree program
  • Readmission: for students who attended BMCC in the past, took one or more semesters off, and want to come back to continue their program
  • Second-Degree: for students who have completed an Associates Degree program at BMCC and want to begin another one

Freshman Applicants

  • Graduated high school or earned high school equivalency certificate

Transfer Applicants

  • Graduated high school or earned high school equivalency certificate
  • 2.0 GPA or higher

*All students accepted for Fall term are eligible to enroll for Summer Session courses. Summer term will be listed in your CUNYfirst student portal, but is optional for enrollment. (We encourage year-round attendance!)

Track Your Application

You can check your application status at any time online. Use CUNY’s tracking tool, CUNYfirst, to review details of your application, see if your transcripts were received, and look out for that admissions decision.

CUNYfirst Portal
After you submit your online application, CUNY will email you with instructions for creating or “claiming” a CUNYfirst account. Once you have successfully created an account in CUNYfirst and logged in, you will be able to view details about your application, registration, and financial aid.
