Our New Website is Live!

The A. Philip Randolph Library has a new website that officially launched for the start of Spring 2020. This new website is designed to make finding things in the library as easy as possible and is designed to work on all devices and with assistive technologies.

Please update your links and bookmarks to: http://bmccwebapp.azurewebsites.net/library

If you have any questions or issues, please contact Prof. Rebecca Hyams, Web and Systems Librarian.

Looking for something? Use OneSearch!

To better support the needs of the BMCC Community, OneSearch will now serve as the single place to search for books and media in the BMCC Library and throughout CUNY, as well as a lot of our articles, ebooks, and other electronic resources.

OneSearch has been available since 2016, where it had coexisted for many years with the traditional Library Catalog, CUNY+. However, CUNY+ isn’t able to provide access to the full breadth of resources available and is officially being phased out CUNY-wide with a full shutdown coming later this year.

We have a guide to getting the most out of OneSearch, and if you need help you can always ask a Librarian!

Need a quick study break?

Working hard? Need to take a little break before jumping back into your homework or studying?

We’re currently piloting a Relaxation Station in the Library. This area, located by the Library’s entrance includes quiet activities that you can do to get a quick brain recharge. Activities include adult coloring pages (and blank paper for drawing and writing), a giant jigsaw puzzle, and a Buddha Board. These types of activities have been shown to help increase concentration.
