Exchange – A Mail Art Project

In a moment when we are all relying on digital images of artwork, the longing for the tangible and physical presence of art feels acute. In an effort to speak to that and to engage artists and our community, but remain safely “distanced,” the Shirley Fiterman Art Center organized a Mail Art project. In the spirit of artists from the 1960s who sent drawings, poems, and collages through the post rather than exhibiting or selling them through galleries, we invited artists from the BMCC community to submit a work via mail. Artworks are posted online and shared on our social media accounts. Follow our Instagram and Facebook accounts for updates. Select works will also be on view in our gallery windows starting September 16.

Park Place Window Project is a public installation space and is on view 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is located on Park Place between Greenwich Street and West Broadway.
