The BMCC community is invited to meet Uyen Kim Huynh, Ph.D., MPA, Innovation Specialist at the Evaluation Office, UN Headquarters, New York. Dr. Uyen will talk about the work she does in innovating evaluation practices through a development of a global digital ideas platform that will be led by UNICEF. She will cover broadly what UNICEF does and how the evaluation function serves the mandate of the organization.
About Uyen Kim Huynh
Dr. Uyen Kim Huynh joined the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in 2018 and leads the ‘Innovation, Learning and Uptake’ Unit. The team works to enhance the use of UNICEF’s evaluation findings and leverage innovations to improve the organization’s evaluation practices. As an academic, she has extensive experience in evaluating the progress and impact of humanitarian projects in low-income countries. Uyen served as the Assistant Director of Policy at the Center for Globalization and Sustainable Development at Columbia University, focusing on sub-Saharan Africa. Her academic research centered on refugee health, stemming from her Ph.D. at the Harvard Program of Refugee Studies.
