Mind in Motion: How Action Shapes Thought

February 19, 2020 at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
| Fiterman Hall | Room 1404/5/6

author Barbara Tversky

Join us for a talk by psychology professor and author Barbara Tversky.

For generations, people have believed that thinking is like talking to yourself. Dr. Barbara Tversky will show us that spatial thinking is the foundation of thought, not language. She will bring together evidence from brain, from language, from gesture, and from cognitive tools such as diagrams and sketches.

Dr. Tversky is Professor Emerita of Psychology at Stanford University and a Professor of Psychology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.
