In the 1970s, the South Bronx was burning. Nearly half a million people were displaced as the city government abandoned them. While government policies caused the devastation, the neighborhood’s Black and Puerto Rican communities were blamed.

Bronx-born Director Vivian Vázquez Irizarry reveals the truth in this documentary, and tells the story on how communities came together and resisted. The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with the filmmaker and community activist.
