Fiterman Hall is coming down—one story a week. Now at half its original 15-story height, the building should be completely razed by the end of November, according to a recent Downtown Express article.
At that rate, the article continues, work on the new Fiterman Hall—rising from the same footprint, just north of the World Trade Center site—should start in December.
According to Marc Violette, spokesperson for the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, the new Pei Cobb Freed-designed building, with classrooms, office and student lounge space, will then open in 2012.
