The Panther Partners program is offering a week of virtual de-stress events that we can all do from home.

1. Guided Meditation

Dim the lights, sit alone and focus on your breathing. Feel your heart beats. Witness your mind and the thoughts that arise. Realize that you are not your thoughts. Let the thoughts go.

Tip: Sign up for “The 10-Minute Mind” for free with your BMCC email to receive daily guided meditations.

2. Write a letter to yourself

Write down what’s on your mind; write about things that have been bothering you lately; write about the things you love; write about past events that have been on your mind. Reflect on your writing.

Tip: Keep the letter and read it next semester.

3. Separate some clothes to donate

Helping others can help you reduce stress and combat depression as it takes your mind off your problems and brings into picture a bigger perspective. This is also a great way to remove clutter and create more space in your house.

Tip: Wait until it is safe to go out and donate them.

4. Call a loved one

Your social network is one of your best tools for handling stress. Call someone who is special for you and ask how they are doing.
