Writing Across the Curriculum Day

Join us for an interactive presentation with Dr. Andrea Fabrizio of Hostos Community College.

What makes us human? What is love? What is freedom? Writing and reflecting on questions such as this can create meaningful connections to texts while also strengthening students’ critical thinking skills.

This presentation and workshop will draw on the work of the grant project, Core Books at CUNY, funded by the Teagle Foundation and will present ways to use writing to make challenging texts and broad humanistic themes relevant, accessible and most of all, interesting to students. Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences teaching difficult or challenging texts and will think together about ways to promote student engagement.
