For Senator • Voices of Change
Hello everyone, my name is Silvana Chanchicocha and I am from Ecuador. I moved from Ecuador to New York in 2017. I graduated from Newcomers High School in 2020 and I am currently studying here at Borough of Manhattan Community College. This is my second semester here and I am majoring in Business Administration. Spanish is my first language and English is my second language.
It is my pleasure to be a candidate for the Student Government Association Senator at BMCC. At the beginning, when I started at BMCC, everything was new for me, I didn’t know how to start studying but now I am beginning to become familiar with many things. Now I am part of the International Student Association, but I would also like to be part of the Student Government Association. As a Senator in the Student Government my goal is to do something to be able to help disabled people, since these people sometimes depend on something to live, but in the same way they want to give everything to study. (They may need free lunches due to their disability.).
I would also like the students to take into account the fun activities that may be in the fields and be part of them. I am 18 years old and the truth is I have not had much experience in any activities, for the fear of being rejected and that is why I would like people who feel that way to think that there will always be someone to help them. I promise to put my goals into practice and that is why I need your support.
