Institutional Effectiveness Town Hall

September 27, 2016 at 3:00 pm
| Room S719 at 199 Chambers St.

What is institutional effectiveness? What is “analytics”? How does this impact me or my department?

As part of our commitment to improving communication with the College community, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics’ (IEA) cordially invites interested faculty and staff to participate in a town hall session that will address these important questions and provide opportunities to ask others relating to planning, assessment, accreditation, and the research that guides and informs these activities.

IEA is responsible for and provides support in ensuring the implementation of the College’s Strategic Plan, continued Middle States Accreditation, and institutional research and analysis. efforts. The Office has also recently taken on the responsibility, with support from college-wide assessment committees, of ensuring the development, implementation, and evaluation of an Institutional Effectiveness plan. This document provides BMCC with evidence of progress towards achievement of its mission and institutional goals. During the session, we will do the following:

  • Communicate the role of IEA at BMCC
  • Demystify Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, Assessment, and Analytics
  • Provide information on the relationship between IEA and your unit or area
  • Present new systems aimed to improve organization and access to data

This is a BYOQ (bring your own questions) event, so please come ready to learn and to help us learn how we can better serve you.

Contact  L. Wassila Soulemana (LSOULEMANA@bmcc.cuny.edu) to RSVP for this inaugural event.
