Now in its 19th year, the BMCC Modern Languages Department Colloquium seeks to make BMCC students aware of different traditions, languages and cultures.
This year’s event celebrates music traditions from around the world. Several musicians, artists and professors will showcase the music of Italy, from classical to contemporary; the music of the Arab world, from secular to sacred; the French Chanson, both ancient and modern; the rhythms of the Spanish-speaking world, and finally, the music of China, its evolution through the ages.
There will be a brown bag lunch from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
