Film Screening: Black Panther

The Library and CETLS are sponsoring screenings of Black Panther next week with related events. Black Panther is a 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. 

2 – 4 p.m. Cultural event hosted by the African Students Association
and International Youth Federation
Cafeteria
4 – 6:15 p.m. Screening of Black Panther Theater 1
6:30 – 7:45 p.m. Panel discussion of the film (see details below) Theater 1
8 – 10:15 p.m. Screening of Black Panther Theater 1

 
* There will be an additional screening of the film on November 1 from 6-8:15 p.m. in Theate 1.

Panel Discssion about the Film
Stay on after the 4 p.m. showing or come early for the 8 p.m., and join panelists for a lively conversation about the film. The panel includes:

  • Omar Holmon, co-founder of Black Nerd Problems
  • Aisha Jordan, actor, writer, arts administrator, and contributor to Black Nerd Problems
  • Makeeba Lavan, doctoral candidate at the Graduate Center
  • Syreeta McFadden, BMCC English professor
