The BMCC community is invited to meet Neil Pierre, Chief, Strategic Engagement and Policy Integration Branch, Financing for Sustainable Development Office, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (ECOSOC), United Nations Headquarters, New York who will speak about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the challenges and opportunities for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

About Neil Pierre
Mr. Neil Pierre is the Chief of the Strategic Engagement and Policy Integration Branch in the Financing for Sustainable Development Office, where he leads the planning and organisation of the ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development follow-up, Sustainable Development Goals Investment Fair, and other activities related to the Financing for Development follow-up process. Prior to this position, Mr. Pierre served as Chief of the Policy Coordination Branch in the Office for ECOSOC Support and Coordination, DESA. In that capacity, he coordinated preparations for the ECOSOC Integration Segment and High-level Segment, and provided substantive support to the ECOSOC Bureau and the Second Committee of the UN General Assembly. Before joining the United Nations Mr. Pierre worked as a diplomat in the Foreign Service of Guyana, serving in London, Brussels and at the Permanent Mission of Guyana to the UN.
Mr. Pierre obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guyana, a Certificate in Diplomacy from the University of Oxford and a Master of Science Degree (Political Economy) from the London School of Economics (LSE).
