BMCC students in an apprenticeship program have the advantage of classroom and lab experiences with our highly qualified BMCC faculty, plus on-the-job training in the company where they work when they are not taking classes. This on-the-job training program enables students to earn a salary while they learn the skills needed for a specific career. Upon successful degree completion, apprentices will be hired in full-time positions by the employer.
Apprenticeships vs. Internships
Both internships and apprenticeships are meant to help students or entry level professionals gain expertise in an industry. An apprenticeship is a paid, on-the-job-training opportunity for someone to learn the skills needed for a career while working towards professional qualifications. Apprenticeship programs focus on teaching specific skills needed to become a full-time employee, whereas internships are generally short-term, temporary opportunities to gain experience.

Eligibility
- At least 18 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Must meet academic requirements for admission to BMCC.
- Some jobs may require a driver’s license.
