Project Impact provides students with direct services such as tutoring and mentoring and referrals to other services as needed. We refer our students to legal services, social services, counseling, employment, career opportunities and housing assistance. We also provide help with basic computer skills and time management.
We interview each student that enters the program, assist them through the admission and financial aid process, provide workshops focusing on transition to college and assign each student a peer mentor.
Peer Mentors
Our Peer Mentors are selected for their communication and leadership skills. Most of our Peer Mentors have been impacted by the justice system and have been successful in changing their lives, becoming model students, earning their associate’s degree and transferring to baccalaureate programs. Peer Mentors focus on developing and supporting our students preparing for the high school equivalency test and college exams.
