The BMCC Department of Ethnic and Race Studies invites you to attend a panel discussion:  500 Years in Search of Freedom: Anti-Blackness in the Americas. The discussion will include the beginning of the transatlantic slave trade, slavery and sugar in Puerto Rico, and racism today.

Panelists include:

  • Dr. Lissette Acosta Corniel
  • Dr. Judith Anderson
  • Dr. Rigoberto Andino

Moderator: Dr. RaShelle Peck

Audience members will be able to participate by submitting questions and comments to the moderator.

Professors are welcome to bring their classes to the event.
