A Seat at the Table: A Panel Discussion with Media Professionals about Women of Color in the Industry

The BMCC Communication Studies Program and the Communication Studies Club invites you to a career panel and networking opportunity with professionals in the media field.

The panel members will talk about their personal experience, diversity in the industry and participate in a question and answer session. The panelists include:

• Alechia Reese: is the director of creative public relations and creative marketing for Soledad O’Brien’s PoHERful Bank of America and NABA NYC.
• Brandi Hunter: is the Vice President of Public Relations and Communications at the American Kennel Club.
• Kesha Brown: has consulted with clients such as Bloomberg, LLP, Viacom, and various venture capital firms.
• Charell Star: is the Director of Content and Innovation at Essence Marketing and Advertising
• Sandra Okerulu: is a stylist and costume designer whose work has been featured in top beauty magazines as well as televisions shows such as The View, Dr. Oz and The Root.com.
• Jasmine Stein: is a marketing veteran, creative and writer who has worked at Vogue Magazine, The New York Times, and is currently Director of Brand Strategy and Client Services at WP_Narrative.

Appetizers and drinks will be served at this free event.

All CUNY students as well as the general public are welcome.

This project is presented in collaboration with Project V, a non-profit initiative whose mission is to create a talent network for Women of Color interested in pursuing a career in media.
