The Can You Haiku? Contest runs April 1-28, 2015

To enter the contest:

Look for the big RED box as you enter the BMCC Library (S410) & fill out the official contest form.
Also, enter online on the BMCC Library’s homepage!
Every Haiku poem entered MUST invoke anything to do with food (such as preparing it, shopping for it, eating it, etc.)
Winners will be announced on April 28, 2015

How to write a Haiku Poem
3 lines of poetry, 17 syllables altogether:
1st line has 5 syllables,
2nd line has 7 syllables,
3rd line has 5 syllables

RULES:

  • Contest is open to all:BMCC students, faculty, staff, & administration.
  • Every Haiku entry MUST invoke anything to do with food (such as preparing it, shopping for it, eating it, etc.)
  • To win, poem must conform to the Haiku format of 5-7-5 syllables.
  • All Haiku poems must be original.
  • You may enter as many DIFFERENT Haiku poems as you wish.
  • All entries (handwritten & online) must be received by noon-28 Apr ’15.
