According to the New York Blood Center, a single blood donation can help save at least three lives. Someone needs blood every 2 seconds
Blood donations help treat cancer patients, accident and burn victims, newborns and their mothers, patients undergoing surgery, and many more. You cannot get an infectious disease by donating blood.
This blood drive is co-sponsored by BMCC/CUNY and the New York Blood Center and it is open to all BMCC students, faculty and staff.
Before donation eat regular meals and drink plenty of fluid, and 24 hrs. before donating you should eat salty food. Afterwards, refreshments including juice, water and cookies will be available.
