The BMCC Law Alumni will be discussing their stories as immigrants and first generation college students. They will be speaking about what led them to a career in law, how they got into law school, as well as insider tips for anyone considering becoming an attorney.

O. Katie Robinson ’07
New York City Prosecutor
Katie Robinson immigrated as a child to New York City from the former Soviet Union. She earned a GED and immediately applied to BMCC. While at BMCC Katie worked full time as a legal assistant for in-house counsel for a real estate corporation. After graduating from BMCC with a degree in liberal arts, Katie attended Brooklyn College and earned a Bachelors in Psychology and Neuroscience. In 2016, Katie graduated from Hofstra Law School. She is currently a prosecutor for the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission.
Kadeen Wong ’05
Estate Planning Law Attorney
Kadeen Wong is a first generation college student who graduated from BMCC in 2005 with a degree in liberal arts. After spending some time working as a 5th grade teacher in the NYC Public School system, Kadeen went on to study at Pace Law School and graduated in 2012. She currently works as an Estate Planning Attorney where she prepares wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents. She previously worked with Pace Women’s Justice Center’s Family Court Legal Program where she represented victims of domestic violence and elder abuse by petitioning for temporary orders of protections, child custody, child support and finding safe shelters. She is still very involved with this worthy cause.
