BMCC Winter Convocation 2020

The annual Winter Convocation is an opportunity for all BMCC faculty and staff to gather to discuss teaching and learning in support of student success.

This year’s Winter Convocation will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 199 Chambers Street. All faculty and academic staff are invited and welcome.

The theme will be Culturally Responsive and Sustaining Engagement.

  • The day will begin with a welcome from Interim President Karrin E. Wilks.
  • The keynote speaker will be David E. Kirkland, Ph.D., J.D., Executive Director of The NYU Metropolitan Center for Research on Equity and The Transformation of Schools.
  • Featured guest Kirsten Grant, Ph.D., Clinical Professor of Chemistry at Hunter College, will give a talk on Implicit Bias.

Presentations and discussions on teaching and learning, facilitated by BMCC faculty, will continue throughout the day.
