De-Stress Fest 2021: Black Out Poetry Workshop

December 3, 2021 at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
| BMCC Library

The world before us in 2022 will require page of text where everything is blacked out except for a few words, which form a poemimagination and creativity as we are called to envision and build a just and equitable society for all. Through art and poetry, we are able to experience a different way of knowing what’s true in our world and choose a different way of sharing our knowledge with the world, as well.

Whether you’re a writer or not (we’re not!), we invite you to join us for a Black Out Poetry workshop, where we’ll stretch our imagination muscles and create poems in community. We’ll work primarily in print, but you’re welcome to bring your laptop or table to create a digital black out poem. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring an old book or magazine of your own. For more information about black out poetry, check out this link.

We hope to see you there.

This event will be held on campus at the BMCC Library, Room S-410
