Welcome to the first gathering of the unofficial BMCC Zine Club. In this club we will get in touch with our creative selves and put this creativity into a zine. What’s a zine? Zines are handmade, self-published booklets about any topic you can think of. We will hold discussions about topics such as social injustices, LGBTQ experiences, and pop culture to spark inspiration for the zines we are creating. Next semester we are hoping to become an official club, so if you are a student who is interested in zines, let us know.
For our first zine-making session, you can reflect with us about what brings us joy or what we are looking forward to for a group zine, or you can explore a topic/idea/theme of your choosing. We’ll be working on both print and digital zines (you choose your preference). For print zines, we recommend bringing printer paper, scissors, and your medium of choice.
For more information about zines, check out this video.
We hope to see you there.
