Description
Have you ever wondered how you might integrate creative visual arts experiences into your curriculum?
Would you like to learn how to utilize an amazing New York City museum as a springboard to the imagination for your students?
Join the CETLS Campus Culture group on Friday, October 18 for a lively discussion and gallery tour as we explore the art and ideas of the Rubin Museum at an Educator Open House. The Rubin’s permanent collection and special exhibits are a rich resource for community college educators, offering insight into the art and history of Himalayan cultures, as well as universal concepts of mathematics, history, and culture. Discussion will focus on how to help students make meaningful connections between their own lives and the timeless art of the Rubin Museum.
The theme for 2019 at the Rubin Museum is Power. Ongoing exhibits that we will learn about include The Power of Nonconformity, Fight the Power (a gallery tour inspired by nonconformity and resistance) and Sharing Power at the Long Table (an open-source participatory project.
So join us for this exciting event at the Rubin Museum. Tickets are free. All you have to do is RSVP.
