The BMCC community is invited to meet Chris Shapard, Communications Coordinator with the Factory Farming Awareness Coalition (FFAC) based in Salt Lake City, Utah to learn about how animals are raised for food in today’s industrial farming system, the impacts of our modern food system on the planet, animals, and humans, and how we can work to create a more just and sustainable food system.
From economics to social justice to public health to sustainability, factory farming is one of the most serious issues facing the planet. By educating and empowering various audiences about the realities of factory farming, FFAC works to build both a consumer base for a sustainable, compassionate food system and an informed citizenry that supports cultural and legislative change.
