Imaginarium Creative Series: Poetry

November 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The world before us in 2021 will require imagination and creativity as we are called to envision and build a just and equitable society for all. As Amanda Gorman showed us on January 20, practicing art and writing poetry can feed our souls and strengthen our imaginations. Through art and poetry, we are able to experience a different way of knowing what’s true in our world and choose a different way of sharing our knowledge with the world, as well.

Whether you’re a writer or not (we’re not!), we invite you to join us for a poetry workshop, where we’ll stretch our imagination muscles and create poems in community. We’ll work both in print and digitally (you choose your preference).

RSVP. Registrants will receive the Zoom link and suggested materials list via email before the workshop.

CCT: This event is Co-Curricular Transcript (CCT) eligible.

Imaginarium: Creative Expression for Everyone is a series of hands-on workshops providing an opportunity for students and other community members to explore the place of creative expression in their lives, tapping into self knowledge and building skills for our current and future planet. Participants create their own works in each session and have the option to create a portfolio of their projects on the BMCC OpenLab.

Brought to you by the A. Philip Randolph Library. For questions or more information contact: Sharell Walker at at shwalker@bmcc.cuny.edu.
