NSF-REU Scholarship Application Opens for Summer 2022 Student Research Program

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program at BMCC* offers paid summer internships for qualified undergraduate students to conduct biology research projects with BMCC scientists. This program is open to all qualified undergraduate students in the United States and is part of a three-year research initiative funded by the National Science Foundation.

Program highlights include:

  • A fully mentored research project
  • Boot camps in all aspects of scientific inquiry including biostatistics, laboratory safety, ethics and responsible conduct of research, and professional development
  • Workshops in STEM careers and in scientific communication, including oral presentations and scientific writing
  • Field trips
  • Social events

Program dates: May 26 to July 20, 2022

Application period opens: December 15, 2021

Application deadline: March 1, 2022
