Radical Reads (Rad Reads) is a monthly discussion group dedicated to challenging the status quo to create a more caring and just world through reading, listening, conversation and action. As we navigate a global public health crisis, increasing income inequality, systemic racism and police violence, housing and food insecurity, and many other inequities in our world, we must be able to understand how we arrived at our present moment and learn from the struggle of the past in order to respond to the crises we face today.
This discussion series will use readings, podcasts, and other media to engage students in current social, political, and economic issues through a critical, abolitionist lens. When possible, relevant community organizations and leaders will also be invited to participate and speak to us about how we can get organized and take action in our own communities.
BMCC students, staff, and faculty are all welcome.
RSVP to receive a Zoom link for this event.
