The radical reading group is a space for students, faculty and staff to come together to read, discuss, and think together about radical ideas that are all too often not a part of the everyday discourse of our political world.

This month, read and discuss A Billion Black Anthropocenes or None  by Kathryn Yusoff, Anthropocene or Capitalocene? : Nature, History, and the Crisis of Capitalism by Christian Parenti and Jason W Moore, and Learning to Die in the Anthropocene : reflections on the end of a civilization by Roy Scranton.

The radical reading group has teamed up with the BMCC Library, which hosts the events and adds each radical book to its collection, offering a limited number of copies of each book to students on a first come, first served basis.

The group meets once a month, on the fourth Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. in the library “reading nook” to the left of the main entrance, to discuss a book and other activism and organizing the members are interested or involved in. The group operates on a consensus model of decision making, meaning that everyone has a say in how the group runs and what books are read.
