Heather Peterson ’15, LMSW
Heather Peterson graduated from BMCC and then Hunter College. She was a member of the first cohort to graduate from Hunter’s Silberman School of Social Work BSW program and later earned her MSW. She currently works as a Social Worker at JASA/ Penn South Program for Seniors (NORC). She provides case management and counseling to older adults, their families, and their caregivers.
Allan King ’15
After completing studies at BMCC Allan went on the earn a BSW from Lehman College. He is currently working on his MSW and will graduate in May 2020. He is currently working as a supervised clinician at an out-patient clinic with clients who have experienced neuro-traumas; traumatic brain injuries, strokes and multiple sclerosis. Allan is interested in gerontology and working with older adults.
Brian Romero ’18, LMSW
Brian Romero, LMSW is a policy associate and 2020 Census Manager at Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC), the first HIV/AIDS organization founded in the country to respond to the epidemic. At GMHC, Brian oversees the #PatientsLeadNY program, a consumer-driven initiative to advance health policy. He advocates for healthcare, harm reduction, immigration and criminal justice reform policy at the local, state and national level. He currently serves as the 1st Vice President at NASW-NYC, is President of the Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC and on the board of the Latino Leadership Institute. He received his AS in Human Services at BMCC, BA in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and MSW at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.
