Special Research Workshop for Engineering Science Majors

July 16, 2015 at 10:00 am - August 8, 2015 at 3:00 pm

July 16 through August 8, 2015

Engineers are increasingly required to know how to conduct research in their disciplines. They are expected to be able to use modern-day research tools and techniques to solve problems for the betterment of society and the environment.

The Engineering Science program at BMCC is proud to present a workshop in which students can participate in research while learning modern research techniques. They will also gain the foundation needed to collaborate with BMCC faculty on research projects at the college.

The workshop will be held during the BMCC Summer II session: July 16 through August 8, 2015.

It will meet from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants will be provided with a free lunch from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The workshop is open to all Engineering Science majors who have  completed Mat 206 or higher calculus classes.

The main focus of the workshop will be quantitative data collection and analysis while learning hypothesis testing and results interpretation.

Students who successfully complete the workshop will be eligible to apply for research opportunities sponsored by C-STEP and other programs that provide scholarships and stipends during the upcoming academic year.

For more information on how to apply for the workshop, please contact Professor Mahmoud Ardebili at mardebili@bmcc.cuny.edu
