“Stand Up and Speak Out” Social Justice Event: DACA and Dreamer

Join us for the first event of the Spring 21 “Stand Up and Speak Out” series. Tiffany James, Director of Student Success at BMCC, will provide a review of CUNY and BMCC policy as it pertains to undocumented students. She will talk about funding and other resources available to undocumented students. We will also discuss key student concerns and best-practices for college faculty and staff to provide effective support.

About the Speaker
In 2014 Tiffany James, Director of Student Success, served as the first campus liaison for TheDream.US scholarship for DACA and TPS students at BMCC. She has been working to support undocumented students at the college since that time. Among other areas of focus, BMCC’s Student Success team advocates for greater awareness of the undocumented student experience and advocates for changes in our practices to support their success.
