Speakers:
Fabrice Guerrier graduates in May with a Master’s Degree in Conflict Transformation from the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University. Currently, he interns at the United Nations Office of the High Representative for Least Developed Countries Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States. He is a board member of Coming to the Table, a national racial reconciliation organization. He was the 2014 Graduate Research Assistant at the Zehr Institute for Restorative Justice, Eastern Mennonite University.
Kay Pranis teaches and writes about the dialog process known as ‘peacemaking circles’ internationally. Kay has developed the use of circles in schools, social services, churches, families, museums, universities, municipal planning and workplaces. She is a Senior Associate at the Center for Restorative Justice at Suffok University and an adjunct professor at Simon Fraser University, Eastern Mennonite University, and Southwest Minnesota State University.
Dr. Maria Volpe is Professor of Sociology, Director of the Dispute Resolution Program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and Director of the CUNY Dispute Resolution Center. An internationally known scholar, Dr. Volpe has lectured, researched, and written widely. Her current research includes police use of mediation, dispute resolution responses to disasters since 9/11, informal responses to conflict used by immigrants, role of religion in reconciliation, and barriers to minority participation in dispute resolution.
