Wikipedia​ Edit-a-thon: Visual Artists of the African Diaspora

The BMCC A. Philip Randolph Library in partnership with the Black Lunch Table (BLT) project and Wikimedia NYC
invites you and your students to A Wikipedia​ Edit-a-thon focusing on Visual Artists of the African Diaspora

Drop-ins welcome, stay for 30 mins, an hour, or whatever fits your schedule

  • Participants will create, update, and improve Wikipedia articles pertaining to visual artists of the African Diaspora.
  • Together we will create historical documents that respond to the need for a reconstruction of the historical record.
  • A training session will be held at the beginning, but help is available throughout the event.
  • All are invited, with no specialized knowledge of the subject or Wikipedia editing experience required.

Please consider offering this experience as an extra-credit option for your students.

Laptops will be provided on a first-come, first served basis. If you have one, bring your own laptop! And bring a friend. The more, the merrier! Snacks provided.
