You Are a Superhero Comics Workshop

April 20, 2021 at 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
| Zoom

The world before us in 2021 requires imagination and creativity as we are called to envision and build a just and equitable society for all.

At their heart, superhero comics are about hope. Hope in the face of adversity, hope in the face of injustice. From Black Panther to Kamala Khan, comics provide the opportunity to reimagine ourselves, our lives, and the society we live in, to create a vision of the future where every day people–you and all of us in the BMCC community–save our world.

Join us to create your own comic telling your story of triumph. Create your own villain and turn yourself into your own superhero. No experience necessary! We’ll provide a template to create a splash page for our superhero identities.

RSVP for the Zoom link and suggested materials.

This is the fourth workshop in Imaginarium: Creative Expression for Everyone Series.

Imaginarium: Creative Expression for Everyone is a series of hands-on workshops providing an opportunity for students and other community members to explore the place of creative expression in their lives, tapping into self knowledge and building skills for our current and future planet. Participants create their own works in each session and have the option to create a portfolio of their projects on the BMCC OpenLab.
