A financial aid grant is money that does not have to be repaid. Grants can be either tuition assistance paid directly to the College on your behalf or a payment made to your CUNYfirst account that is refunded to you to help you pay for other educational or living expenses. Grants can be awarded on the basis of financial need or academic merit.
