When should I consolidate my loans?
The decision of whether or not to consolidate your student loans depends on your previous borrowing history and where you are in the repayment process. You can apply for a Direct Consolidation Loan once you have entered repayment from as early as the beginning of your grace period. If you are considering consolidation, you should discuss your particular situation with a Financial Aid Counselor, or log-on to the Federal Direct Loan Consolidation Information Center for more guidance.
