Baruch Shemtov
Baruch Shemtov is the Entertainment Anchor on Good Day New York, broadcasting 5:00-10:00 AM every weekday morning on FOX 5.
In addition to his love for entertainment, Baruch is also a Certified Fitness Trainer, and is passionate about inspiring viewers through his fitness journey with tips that they can apply in their own lives every day.
Baruch has interviewed some of the world’s most inspiring and influential leaders spanning the worlds of entertainment, politics, business, and fashion.
His one-on-one interviews have featured Senator John McCain, Kristen Stewart, President Pervez Musharraf, President Alvaro Uribe, Secretary Madeleine Albright, Yo-Yo Ma, Donald Trump, Sarah Jessica Parker, Charlie Rose, Shaquille O’Neal, James Franco, Danny Glover, Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, Spike Lee and many others.
A 2009 graduate of Harvard College, Baruch was named by the Harvard Crimson as one of the “15 Most Interesting Seniors”. His passion for the interview was ignited while he was a researcher for CNN’s David Gergen. While on that assignment, Baruch created, produced and hosted a new interview series on the Huffington Post. Featured on the home page of the site, the segments included sit-down interviews with Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Manolo Blahnik, Senator Chuck Schumer, Congressman Barney Frank, Arianna Huffington, among others.
Baruch quickly expanded his hosting role, serving as a Special Correspondent on the nationally syndicated show Extra, the New York Host for Young Hollywood, the official celebrity interview platform in the new YouTube Original Channel Partnership initiative, and Special Correspondent/Producer-In-Residence at #waywire, the digital news network founded by Mayor Cory Booker.
Baruch has also been passionate about the worlds of design and fashion from a young age. A fashion entrepreneur since his junior year of high school, Baruch launched his line of ties at age 15, garnering press and attention around the world, including features in The New York Times, The Times of London, GQ Japan, New York Magazine, and other publications. He and his designs have also been profiled on CNN, E!, NBC, and PBS. In 2013, Baruch launched his boys’ tie collection and a coordinating father-son necktie range at Bergdorf Goodman, which featured Baruch’s collection in its official Father’s Day advertising campaign.
Baruch has opened the New York Stock Exchange, closed the NASDAQ, and hosted the TEDx Youth Conference in New York. He is committed to public service and the arts and was recently appointed to the Advisory Board at the Harvard Kennedy School Taubman Center for State and Local Government. He also serves as a founding board member of the Alvin Ailey Young Patrons Circle Steering Committee.
