Dear BMCC Students, Faculty and Staff,
Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and soon many of us will be spending the holiday with friends and loved ones.
As we finalize personal holiday plans, I want to express my gratitude to all of you — our students, faculty and staff — for your resilience and dedication to BMCC during these times as we continue to welcome our community back to our campus.
Working Together
The fall semester has been one filled with many challenges, including our declining enrollment and student retention. Many of our students continue to struggle with balancing their home life, work, and school during this pandemic; and we must come together to learn more and understand how we can best assist them in reaching their academic goals.
Collectively, we have formed many committees and teams across the college to take inventory of our academic programming and our support services. Our work continues to call for us to find innovative ways to seek solutions for the betterment of our students’ learning experience and the future of college. Let’s support each other as we continue this important work, which will carry us into the Winter Break and the spring 2022 semester.
Stay Healthy This Holiday
Developments related to the pandemic continue to fluctuate; however, the rate of vaccinations is increasing, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released new guidance for how people can safely enjoy the holidays during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the CDC, the best way to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 is by making sure everyone who is eligible are vaccinated prior to attending holiday gatherings, and wearing a mask is also encouraged in certain situations.
I strongly encourage you to remain vigilant about protecting yourself, your family members and friends. Take some time to learn how you can have a safer and healthier Thanksgiving break and modify your plans if necessary.

THANK YOU to our donors, alumni and friends who help us build partnerships and engagement to elevate our financial position and connection to the community.
THANK YOU to the members of BMCC’s Cabinet for their continued leadership as we navigate through the challenges and opportunities that come our way; and
THANK YOU to our AMAZING students who continue to demonstrate their willingness to learn and desire to become future leaders and productive members of our community.
