Today is #CUNYTuesday!
#CUNYTuesday, part of National Giving Tuesday, is an opportunity for all faculty, staff, alumni and friends to support BMCC programs and services that are critical to helping students succeed. This year, BMCC is concentrating its #CUNYTuesday fundraising efforts in support of programs to fight food insecurity.
Hunger insecurity faced by our students is real. In a recent survey, nearly 50% of current BMCC students indicated not knowing where their next meal is coming from. It is impossible for our students to focus, study and succeed if they are hungry. This is why I am asking for your support today.
BMCC has partnered with Feed the Frontlines, an organization that connects students with restaurants in their neighborhood and provides them with fresh, restaurant quality meals. In this way, Feed the Frontlines addresses food insecurity and also helps restaurants stay afloat during this time. In addition to this partnership, BMCC is continuing the work of the on-campus food bank, the Panther Pantry. Eligible students can take home a three-day supply of nutritionally balanced, nonperishable food for up to three family members.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to feed as many students as possible. We are currently 25% of the way there and hope we can count on you to help us achieve our goal. Donors who give $100 or more will receive a BMCC-branded mask as a token of appreciation. If you are unable to make a gift at this time, please share the giving link with others and spread the word!
If you have questions, Yaritza Gonzalez, Manager of the Annual Fund and Alumni Relations at ygonalez@bmcc.cuny.edu, will get back to you right away.
Thank you for your donation. We appreciate your support.
