The Early Childhood Center (ECC) Parents Club is a wonderful resource, giving parents a chance to meet and chat with other parents as well as ECC staff. We have weekly meetings on Wednesdays between 2 and 4 p.m. in the Early Childhood Center and serve coffee, tea and some snacks.
Coffee and Conversation
In addition to general discussion, we often discuss topics of interest to parents such as managing a busy schedule of school, work and being a parent. We also involve parents in planning special events for the children, such as a trip to a museum or the theatre.
The Parents Club provides a safe space for parents to discuss topics that interest them. Parents suggest things to talk about. Past discussions have included: (1) child support; (2) how to access support on campus; (3) getting together off campus with parents of children of similar ages; (4) potty training; (5) clothes swap; (6) temperamental children; (7) developmentally appropriate practices and (8) lice.
