The BMCC Honors Program is designed to offer high achieving students additional challenges in their coursework. Students can search for a selection of Honors Courses and take advantage of an array of opportunities that enrich the honors experience. BMCC’s Honors Program, which was implemented in 2017, follows best practices from nationwide honors programs.
Mission Statement
The BMCC Honors Program promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion for students willing to develop their intellectual potential. It provides an academically empowering platform, developing critical and analytical skills, independent research capabilities, and written and oral communication skills, through an interdisciplinary learning environment. The program is accessible to all majors and designed to foster intellectual growth. It prepares the students for both successful transfer to a four year college and career readiness through a challenging and rigorous curriculum.

Students will be able to:
- To effectively research, analyze, and interpret critical topics across disciplines using a variety of scholarly resources.
- To implement communication techniques from academic, scholarly and disciplinary contexts.
- Students will be able to apply acquired knowledge and skills to collaborate and work effectively in diverse professional settings
