The tools on this page will assist you in successfully and correctly advising students:
- Complete and submit the Faculty/Staff DegreeWorks Access Form. This will allow you to have advisor access within DegreeWorks so that you can begin to advise students.
- Attend a virtual DegreeWorks training session. This training session will provide you with an overview of DegreeWorks, our online advisement tool. It is important you know how to navigate the system and we strongly encourage you to attend one of the sessions.
- Take a look at our advisement syllabus. This syllabus details the roles and responsibilities of both the advisor and the student and also has tips for how students can prepare for the advisement session.
- Attend one of our virtual Academic, Career, and Transfer Advisement Training Sessions. This training provides a deeper dive into how to tackle advisement sessions with students. This interactive session is ideal once you have a working knowledge of DegreeWorks and if you are interested in further developing your academic, career and transfer advisement skills.
- Get to know your AATC liaison (if applicable). Each academic department has at least one (1) liaison from the Academic Advisement and Transfer Center. Your AATC liaison is responsible for collaborating and facilitating open communication between your academic department and the AATC.
- Review the Basic Skills Guide and Course Promotion Booklet. These two documents are updated every semester.
