Students who have a FAFSA on file may be able to use financial aid for study abroad. Read the sections below to understand tuition and program fees for BMCC Study Abroad Programs (see other CUNY study abroad programs).
Don’t forget to check which study abroad scholarships you are eligible for – you can apply to more than one!
BMCC Summer Study Abroad Programs
Tuition and Fees: $730 – $1060 (3 credits)
- All participants in BMCC Study Abroad Programs will be registered for 3 credits. Financial aid, such as the Pell Grant and TAP, may be applied to the cost of tuition. If you are eligible for a tuition waiver, this may be applied as well (check with your Academic Advisor).
- To apply for summer financial aid, make sure to have the 2020-2021 and 2021-22 FAFSA on file.
- Visit the Bursar’s website for specific tuition costs, payment options and deadlines.
Program Fee: $900 – $2000*
- This fee includes a roundtrip international flight, health insurance, housing, most meals, program-related transportation and excursions. Summer 2021 program fees will be available late fall 2020.
- The BMCC Association Scholarship covers 60% of the Program Fee for eligible BMCC students – it is already factored into the fee. Non-BMCC students will be expected to cover the additional cost.
- Financial aid in the form of loans may be applied to the Program Fee. Since the Program Fee is due in April, students may request an additional loan from their spring financial aid package. This should be done immediately after admission to the program in March.
- Program fees are subject to change up to one month before the program departs.
Additional Costs: This may include renewing or obtaining a new passport, as well as getting a visa (if required by the country). Students may also want to bring extra money for personal expenses and additional meals.
*Based on 2018 – 2019 academic year
General Payment Deadlines for Admitted Students:
- Program Deposit of $250 (applied to Program Fee): March
- Remaining Program Fee: April
- Tuition (3 credits): see Bursar’s website
