  3. Pay your commitment deposit online.
Secure your place at BMCC by paying a small part of your tuition (about $100 USD) before registration. Log in to your CUNYfirst account to pay online. If you are having difficulty paying the deposit, please contact International Admissions at internationaladmissions@bmcc.cuny.edu.
  4. Complete the CUNY English as a Second Language Diagnostic Assessment (ESLD).
After you accept your Offer of Admission, you will receive an email from CUNY Office of Assessment with a personalized link to the online assessment. The ESLD Assessment measures your skill level at communicating in English, and your response will help determine which college-level English or English as a Second Language course you should enroll in. All students who completed some or all of their education outside the United States, are required to submit an ESLD response. The sooner you complete the ESLD, the sooner you will be contacted by the college to register for classes. For more information about the ESLD, please visit the CUNY Testing web page. If you have questions, please contact the BMCC Testing Office.
  5. Apply for a BMCC Form I-20 from the International Student Services Office (ISSO).
To obtain an F-1 student visa from the United States government, you will need to present a valid I-20 issued by BMCC.

    • If you are currently OUTSIDE the U.S. and applying for an F-1 visa, please review information on the F-1 visa interview process on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s “Study in the States” website.
