The Academic Advisement and Transfer Center (AATC) is here to help you plan your course of study at BMCC and assist you in transferring to a four-year college. Although you are required to meet with your advisor once a semester, you will find that we are here to answer questions throughout the semester.
Academic Advisement
Our advisors will help you plan your courses and answer questions you may have. We hold regular events that will provide information about transferring and will give you a chance to ask more questions. Our online DegreeWorks system helps you and your advisor keep track of your progress as you take courses at BMCC. If you are considering law school, we have specialized pre-law advisors to help you. If you are thinking of a non-traditional career, for instance one in which men or women are less represented, we have advisors for that as well.
Transfer Toolbox
Begin your transfer planning. Learn about how credits transfer from one school to another. Find out about special transfer programs and scholarships. See the range of articulation agreements we have—these are transfer partnerships with four year colleges that guarantee the transfer of credits from BMCC. And don’t miss our transfer events, such as Transfer Talk Tuesdays, Transfer Thursdays, panel discussions with alumni, table visits with reps from four year colleges, transfer fairs and more.
Mission
The mission of the Borough of Manhattan Community College Academic Advisement & Transfer Center is to assist students in the development of meaningful educational plans that will further their academic, career and personal goals. The Academic Advisement & Transfer Center (AATC), under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, is responsible for the coordination of campus-wide academic and transfer advisement. The AATC assists students in learning and understanding the academic process while effectively navigating post-secondary education.
