Garcilaso de la Vega was a Spanish soldier and poet who lived in the 16th century. This film recounts the events that marked his personality and his literature, above all, the writing of the Royal Commentaries of the Incas, a masterpiece of the Spanish Golden Age and a founding text of Latin American literature. However, it also provides a human dimension, depicting what de la Vega’s life was like at that time in history.
The term mestizo was historically used in Spain, Spanish America and the Philippines and referred to a person of combined European and Indigenous American descent.
The film is 78 minutes long and is in Spanish with English subtitles.
