Doctor’s appointments and medical offices can be intimidating, and many transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) people have difficulty accessing proficient healthcare and communicating our needs. This workshop, written by trans people for trans people, will discuss methods for self-advocacy in healthcare settings.
The relationship between patients and their medical providers should be collaborative, and our goal is to help TGNC people learn to find affirming providers, effectively communicate our healthcare needs, and build mutually beneficial relationships with those providers that cultivate high quality care.
